Keawala’i Church

One of the charming things about Maui (perhaps all the Hawaiian islands) are the small churches along the coast line.  These churches represent many denominations.  I believe there are nine in Lahaina!  My personal favorite is located at Makena landing.

Results of children, fireworks, dry grass and windy conditions destroyed two homes and damaged two more.

Gates of Halama Street

Halama Street features custom ocean side homes.  Check out gates for the driveways of these homes.  Although the gates are a lovely way to say “keep out”, Ocean Access lanes/drives 112 thru 117 are open to the public.

I do.

Preparation for a wedding

We met a wedding party of 30 waiting to fly from Indianapolis to Maui this week.  They were a delightful, enthusiastic group who we saw again at the Dallas airport.  Maui remains a popular destination for wedding as it has been for years.  As one of the guest shared, the trip was also a vacation with visits to the other islands.  Any day of week you may see a ceremony on the beach, on the grounds of a resort, at church, upcountry…this location is the Kahili Golf Course with reception in the restaurant.
