Plumeria blooms shed after a long rain shower and gusty winds.  Yes, the fresh ones would make a beautiful fragrant lei.  These trees are known best as Hawaiian, however they are native of Mexico, Central and South America.

The trees have lovely green leaves which shed annually.  The clusters of blooms are bold, beautiful and fragrant.  This a yellow Plumeria.  There are also white and rainbow (or pink) varieties.
